I purchased this collar for my 6 year old (male) dog because my 8 month old (female) puppy (Pitt/GSD mix) ate his last collar. The puppy has herding tendencies and uses the 6 year old's collar to lead him around (a trait we're working on). So far, the collar is holding up to the tugging.
