Size Guide
2 Ways to Measure a Dog's Neck Size

There are 2 very simple ways to measure your dog's neck size to determine what size collar you should buy for them.  Most people don't have a tailor's measuring tape laying around, and a tape measure is not practical.

1) Use their current collar:  Note: do not measure end to end.  This is a very common mistake.Measure from the spot indicated here on the 'male' end of the buckle.  This is where the end of the female side of the connector meets the male side.  If you measure from the end.  Your measurement will at least be an inch or two off.  If you're near the low or high end of a size range, that can make or break your perfect fit!  In this situation, after achieving a good fit on the dog, I would take it off and find that my dog's ideal collar size would be 17 inches.

2) (Gently) Use a phone charger cable.  It's easy and most everyone has one.  Hold the end of the cable between your finger and thumb and and gently wrap the other side around your dog's neck (thickest area), and pull it snug enough that you can fit two fingers between it and your dog's neck. Let go of the charger end of the cable and mark the spot on the cord with your finger that met the charger end.  From there, use a tape measure to get the measurement from your cable measurement. This is far easier than trying to wrap a tape measure around your dog's neck!

Embroidery field is 4 inches long. Personalization with multiple words may have smaller text and multiple lines.

We only add the loop fastener when a flag patch is included.

Anything we should take in to account when making your collar...growing dog, etc.

  • The Personalized Extreme 2 inch collar with handle is our most sought-after product. The extra width spreads force across a larger area of the throat, so your dog can pull and lunge safely while working. The traffic leash with swivel finishes the load-out with a handle right at the clip.
  • This is what our own dogs wear. Three years of prototypes went into the Extreme harness: two AustriAlpin Cobra buckles so it goes on over the head and buckles at each side, a forged steel V-ring, a low profile grab handle, and 5.5" x 4" loop panels on each rear side for patches.

  • 2" collar with low profile restraint handle, metal Cobra buckle
  • Force spread across a wider area of the throat for safe pulling and lunging
  • Harness: 2 AustriAlpin Cobra buckles, forged steel V-ring, grab handle
  • 5.5" x 4" patch loop on each rear side of the harness
  • Traffic leash: 3 layers of mil-grade nylon, Kong Frog connector, alloy swivel
  • Optional flag patch on the collar, optional embroidered name on the harness

  • Collar neck sizes run 17.5" to 26" in half-inch steps; above 26" write the size in Build Notes.
  • Harness: Small 30–45 lbs (21–27" girth), Medium 45–65 lbs (25–32"), Large 61–88 lbs (28–37"), X-Large 88–150 lbs (32–45").

Patrol, bite work, tracking, personal protection and sport. Dogs 30 lbs and up.

The collar's smallest neck size is 17.5", so this is not a kit for small dogs.
